added new sata hdd, not responding

Ive just added a 320gb 7200.10 seagate barracuda to computer. When I click on it to open folders in it sometimes it does not respond very fast and sometimes it says "not responding" and closes the window that the drive is displayed in. Othertimes it works fine. What could be the problem?

sounds to me like a faulty controller or disk tbh... are you sure you installed it correctly and it is formatted? lol just checking

have you any other disks to try on the controller?

yes the disks working fine, im thinking it might be bios setup for the sata thats wrong??
