Sorry no testings at lower resolution below 2560 x 1440 or low/medium setting. There are plenty of others who have shared there findings with the lower settings and lower resolutions

Test are to see if there is a difference when gaming at ultra settings with high resolution 2560 x 1440.

Ryzen Memory Tested Is It Worth Buying New Faster Ram

I have tested various combination of DDR4 Ram on Ryzen+ before in past six months.Always about the same results.

Today I tested a GTX 1080TI gaming at 2560 x 1440 Ultra/Max setting.

If gaming at higher resolutions and you need to know does the ram make a big difference.I would say no need to waste cash on new ram.

Well I do read people asking if I should buy B-Die faster ram and get rid of my ram xxxx
That is why I put this in first post

Ryzen Memory Tested Is It Worth Buying New Faster Ram

The 2600X was running 4250 Mhz PBO/XFR and results with BF5 or the games in general can be affected by things like shadowplay on whith recording with MSI/RTSS and HWinfo64 running.

So monitoring software can screw up some stuff, but the numbers are real close that you would not and can not notice 5/6 FPS difference in a game.

Here is 10 games from a couple months back.
So some single channel memory you can just ignore.
10 more game test CL16 3200 and CL14 3466

Thanks for the reply.

So I am not a reviewer and I just play games and to me the ram thing is not an issue for me. Just made the thread to show some people.
Having faster more expensive B-Die ram ,yes is faster but is it worth the extra cost. Not for me to decide. I do know what I would pick on next Ryzen build.

I would have to buy a capture card to test separately for the lows to get the most complete picture.

I can only go by what I tested in the above games and going by average FPS.

0-3 FPS - 9 Games
3-6 FPS - 2 Games
6+ FPS - 2 Games

strange, i watched a video on youtube where the ram speeds made a much bigger difference than it does on your testing!
So does that make my testing wrong or how you say strange.
Well I am not trying to get views or selling anything I can tell you that, just showing testing I did and for me it is what it is.

Awesome and very detailed, probably too much for me to breakdown personally to any real degree.

Just wondering what happened at 3:51 in the youtube video in SOTTR:

CPU usage 96% vs 46% vs 4%?

As a layman I could probably spend ages analysing this frame alone. I note 49 vs 59 vs 34 fps in the 0.1% low categories.

These RAM benchmarks are a headache, and I've noted that watching other videos where higher performance RAM somehow dips below lower performance RAM in some categories, and it all just starts getting very anomalous.

Well each frame will not be exact.Do not get to worked up about it.In my opinion the extra cost for faster ram is not really worth it.

I taken all the videos and lined them up best I could (probably within .5 sec difference in videos) none can get the exact frame for each video unless you have very expensive software to look at each frame.

Also while running the benchmarks things such as third partying monitoring software has an effect on the numbers.
So in general overall numbers should give a idea and how it is working but it is not 100% perfect.

No im just saying its strange how 2 similar tests came with a big difference! I'll post the link to the video just so you know what im talking about:

Thanks for the video and reply.

Looks like he just took some 3200CL16 Ram and set 2133/2400/2667/3000/3200 with same timings that would result in his video for the FPS difference
which is perfectly fine but he did not mention any of that in the video description which is misleading and creates confusion for people in my opinion.

So not the same kind of comparison which leads people to believe that faster DDR ram is way better for me it is not true.

Ryzen vs RAM 2133MHz vs 2400MHz vs 3200MHz vs 3600MHz With Tweaked Timings 2560 x 1440 Ultra setting for the same game.
I got no real difference in that game either and same results of other testing I done on the game give or take 1-2 FPS due to different timings

Ah thanks for the explanation! Now this whole thing makes more sense to me!

Im no expert in the matter, I was just comparing 2 different tests I saw, the youtube video which apparently was pretty inaccurate and confused viewers (like me)

Thanks for the reply.
Oh hey no problem at all,I am no expert either but I do see a lot of misleading videos and when I went looking for an answer for gaming with higher resolutions all the videos I seen did not make sense to me.
So I am just showing my own test with higher resolutions when gaming.
