Addiction to something I can't have

I work in IT lol...

Nothing to do.... got the radio on, with 12 of us currently playing hangman on the white board with female porn star names only... tougher than you think.

Find some work, do something proactive.

There is always something you can be doing. Especially if you work in IT.

Today's climate is not the one in which you wish to prove you have no work to do.

I know the feeling, been playing Ogame again recently and it's getting to the stage where I need to keep an eye on it more and more only it's blocked at work :(

No, he investigates service improvement plans. No IT infrastructure is perfect and there are always things which can be improved.

Ummm, proxy is a no go, remote is a no go, my employer, is VERY tight on security both physical and electronic lol.

So, unless I want to be shot or locked up, I would rather not go round the security procedures. I just wondered if Mafia Wars had it's on dedicated site or something.

This I know the problem is the stuff I want to fix I can't because of Corporate IT Services(CITS) with their stupid rules & security policys stating that Local administrators(me) can't deal with the stuff that needs fixing,

all the stuff I can fix I have done and it's all been properly documented and stored, all I can do at the moment in regards to problems I've been asked to deal with is send a request off to CITS and wait for a reply stating my problem has been fixed,
only to find 2 times out of 10 that my problem hasn't been solved and I have to send out the request again. However If it's a problem I can and have the rights to solve I'll solve it document it and store it then and there!

Simplest way that'll avoid you getting fired for misuse of company equipment - bring your own laptop + 3G dongle. That is, if they'll let you bring your laptop into the building. I wouldn't see it as a problem if you don't hook it into the office network.
