Adding a Dining Table top to a Pool Table

Hey all,

I bought a high quality folding 7x4 foot pool table many years ago, it's great, highly regarded etc but I would like to add a dining top to it. It has been a real struggle to find a dining top to 'add' to this as most searches result in an inclusive pool table and dining top or when looking for just a dining top the options are too small! Does anyone have any recommendations, it doesn't need to be the highest quality but just the ability to add a top in 2/3 pieces for eating, board games or anything else that a flat service can use?

Otherwise, is a custom built one the only option?

Visit charity shops and see if you can find a table with a top that fits your needs and bin the base. Was in a Barnardo's earlier today and they had a table with a removable glass top for £50, it was only about 2m x 1m though, but you get the idea.

You could DIY something rough and ready but just throw a table cloth over it.

Is this purely as an occasional table for games etc? Or are you after something furniture quality?

If it's just for hobbies, you could get some nice high quality plywood and maybe stain/oil it and add some edge banding.

Can you fit your knees under this thing? If not, it would be very unpleasant to sit at.
