Adding A Second SSD?

Heyhey, I've got a 64GB M4 SSD in my computer at the moment, but I'm thinking of grabbing a 256GB SSD (likely a Samsung 840 or similar), but I was wondering what's best to do about them.

My idea is that I'll leave windows installed on the 64GB drive, and use it for basic programs as well, and then install all my games onto the new SSD. I know the new one will be a bit faster, but would it actually be a noticeable difference if I was to move the OS onto the 256GB drive?

Seems like a fairly simple decision really, but just wanted to check I'm not overlooking anything? :)

I've done what you're planning. Had OS and a game or two on a 60gb, recently bought a 256gb and now have all my games on there and OS / progs on the 60. I like it that way as both get the speed boost benefit. The question is, do you need the SATA line for anything else? If not you may as well leave your OS on the 60 :p

How much speed boost for OS boot? IIRC, not that much.

I highly doubt there would be much speed burst on the newer drive, but saying that i would prefer the os on the 256gb but thats just my preference.

Seeing how fast Windows boots on the M4 64gb anyway (I have the same drive), I would just leave it and use the 256gb purely for games. Means more space for more games ;).
