Adding a sub

At the moment I'm using some Edifier R1600 Plus bookshelfs with an Asus Xonar DS 7.1.

Is it possible to add an active sub at a later date? If so, how?

You need a sub with about in crossover that then output the higher frequencies which can then be input to the R1600s. I dont know the proper term though, someone else can confirm

i do just that with my edifiers, and a xonar DG, the DG's set to 5.1 speaker mode and the flexbass mode switched on (actes as a LFE crossover) @120hz. my amp has a built in crossover as well witch i think is what Temi means. you dont need one if the DS has the flexbass.

the sub plugs into the center/sub of you sound card sorted.
