Adding Bass from sound card?

What should be the correct crossover frequency? I hear sound systems aim for 80hz as the main bass point.

On the spec sheet for the Fidelio X1 I see Frequency response 10-40 000Hz does this mean I should have bass only within this range?

You have full range headphones. Crossover frequency is for adding a subwoofer

I have two options for when using sound system and headphones both give me option to set the bass frequency..

shouldn't need it for headphones, its for setting crossover between subwoofer and bookshelf/ satellite speakers.

the crossover is there when you are using a setup with a subwoofer. the crossover point is the point where the bass is split off (when speakers are set to 'small') or duplicated (when they are set to 'large') and set to the subwoofer.

your X1's are stereo 2 channel headphones; they do no have a subwoofer so leave it off completely and set your speakers to large or (or 'full', or whatever your soundcard drivers refer to it as)
