Hi folks,
I have 2x 1gb crucial ballistix pc3200 ddr400 mem on my asus a8n-sli deluxe mobo and was wanting to add 2 more 1gb sticks.
problem is I can't find any matching ballistix ddr memory anywhere.
My question is, can I add any ddr pc3200 ram with the ballistix, or would I be better installing 4 new 1gb sticks?
If I can mix and match, any recomendations?

You can install additional memory providing the are the same type, regardless of manufacturer.. I.e. PC3200. The timings will be adjusted to meet the slowest you have.

Do memory timings have to match, or will they run at whichever as the lowest timings? Oops didn't read above fully,
thanks for quick reply. I'll have a look see whats available.

depending on you memory controller it might need to run at a reduced clock speed, I had an amd s939 venice 3000 and to run 4 stick it would have wanted to run at 333mhz, not sure about the intel conrollers of that era though
