I also think the post counts proposed make it a bit pointless. There aren't many posters above 25,000, never mind 50, 75, 100. And many of those have been here so long they are MOH, Don, etc anyway so dont use the standard avatars. You'd almost never see the new ones.

I'd be more interested in a few more between say 1k and 15k as that would cover most of the users who are regular, been around a while, but just dont post massively.

Because I've always thought more avatars would make recognizing posts easier, especially in longer threads. I know all about the ideas behind signatures but you've decided to have more Avatars then why not a lot more?

Agree with both of these, especially Michael Corleone. His is the glaring omission from the avatars.

I really don't think adding new avatars is detracting from the simplicity of the forum. The signature sizes are great, as is the tidy look of the whole site. Adding a few more different avatar ranks for a little more interest, especially now that some forum members are lodging some pretty high post counts now, is really not a big deal. I always thought more needed adding given that most of them are concentrated below 10000 posts.

For the record, I would prefer not to be represented by a man but that's not what this thread is about. Coupled with the fact that off the top of my head I wouldn't have a clue who to suggest for a female option.

To give an option of a woman avatar would provoke more trouble than its worth for the mods when male members think its funny to have a woman as their avatar.

The fact that avatars are pretty much standard and that you can hide sigs and avatars on here are a couple of good things about the forum. I can't stand forums where animated avatars/sigs and countdowns/badges are rife - just unprofessional and kindergarten.
