As we know adding extra named drivers to your policy can reduce your insurance premium. What I'm doing isn't fronting, just to get that clear, I would be listed as the main driver. Parking the car on the road instead of on the drive knocks just under 10% off my premium, adding my mother sees another 8% off and if I were to add one of my aunts another 8% comes off too.

Adding women seems to be working in my favour however there must be a limit as to who you can add to an insurance policy? do they have to be living at the address the car is registered at or will be at over night? Otherwise I've two other aunts and a grandmother to add on :p

Also for the record I am not using any of their NCB as this can't be used on two policys at once.

Can I add lots of female members from my family to reduce my premium?

I have my mum and dad on my insurance, brings it down and there are no questions from the insurance company.

We all live at different addresses too!

There has to be a reasonable expectation that they will use the car. If you reckon you can justify that if they ask you about it then add as many as would be "reasonable" ;)

My sister is on mine as well, she knocked a hell of a price of the premium. She lives in her own house and hasn't drove the car in the 14 months I've owned it, lol.

i added my two sisters onto the policy and when doing it the insurance asked me how oftern are they going to drive to which the answer was NEVER! they are only on the policy to reduce premium.

The guy on the other end just laughed

Every year I renew I add my wife.

She is on a provisional license and has decided at the moment not to proceed with her learning to drive.

However the fact she is female (even though she is on a provisional) my insurance drops.
So she will remain on my insurance, probably never driving the vehicle.

it cost me £22 to add my girlfiend on my insurance as a provisional (shes 24) on my veccy 2littre diesel.

yet costs about £950 to insure her on a 1.2 1999 fiat brava as main driver. eugh.

:D,

I know that my policy is limited to 4 drivers total. At least, buying over the web that's the most I could have. Only 1 of the others has ever driven it, but it's not like they can object to adding people even if they're never going to (as long as you're stringently truthful about their details). The fact it fiddles with the arcane algorithms they use to calculate premiums is just a plus :D
