Hi,

Quick question currently have 500gb Samsung Evo as boot SSD. System is getting an almost complete overhaul. Will get a new SSD as boot drive with fresh windows install.

Do i delete all files of the existing SSD or format the drive? If it was an HDD i would just format, but want to double check on SSD that i am following right process.

Thanks,

It maybe wise to check in disk management as when Windows is installed it creates several partitions, if it's going to be a storage drive then I would remove all the partitions and then format it so it's a clean drive again.

I would normally suggest DBAN for wiping a drive clean, but since it doesn't work with SSDs that isn't an option but something like gparted will be able to wipe out all the partitions so that it can then be formatted within windows.
