hi there

im looking to add water cooling to the GPU and want to double check the water block listed below is 100% compatable with the gfx card i have,

ASUS EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S/1GD5 Graphics Card (HDD 1GB Radeon HD 6950)

with the XSPC Razor HD6970 GPU Waterblock **Also Supports HD6950** [RZR6970]

also not 100pct happy with the temps i getting with current system , getting around 40C if make changes to the loop order , would i see a improvement in temps currently have th loop order as

pump > cpu > rad > res > pump , would i see improvements putting the rad before the cpu

yes checked out the ek site and know the ek blocks will fit , offhand does overclockers sell the heat sinks required for the ek blocks which only cover the blocks and if so can yer link em , had a scan thru myself but never saw em

thx

Ok just got on pc and checked coolingconfigurator, EK don't do full cover blocks for your card. So you'd have to use a gpu-only block which sucks.

As for the ram heatsinks you're after if you went down that route, I can't see any on ocuk.

Just had a read of a review and it looks like your card is not reference design so your only option is for a core only block with some ramsinks (I use Zalman but they are all more or less the same) on the memory. When you take your cooler off there should be a decent size black heatsink left on the VRM's so that's one thing you don't have to worry about.

yer pasty when was on the EK config , noticed in the picture the black heatsink , ordered 1 of the ek blocks for the gpu anyway and some other bits to tidy up the loop abit , thinking maybe at a later date add a exernal rad to the back of the haf x, see how the loop performs with just the 1 360 rad

quick update got some new EK PSC Compression Fitting 7/16 [16/12mm] - G1/4 - Nickel to go with the tubing Masterkleer Hose Pack PVC 15,9/11mm (7/16ID) UV-Reactive Red 3.3m which i already had in the loop, should they be able to screw fully down or is it ok for just finger tight not to be a problem?

thx
