Adding (yes, adding!) DRM to mp4 files?

Hi all,

One of my websites involves a fair bit of video sent in from other users. I currently allow them to download these videos to their phones which is protected by DRM. However, I want to add ipod touch support which doesn't support the method I use on phones.

Question is - how to I add DRM to mp4 files? I've tried google searching it, but all the info I can find is how to remove the protection.

Ideally I'd like to not bother with DRM, but alas due to the content of the videos my users would like this feature for their own sense of security.

My server runs Linux too if that makes things more complicated!

You'd need Apple to host your content if you want to use the iPod DRM.

Ah no that's annoying (yet somehow not surprising from Apple...). I presume they charge a fee then for such a service - if they allow 3rd party hosting at all?
