Require additional storage for games

1) 2TB NVME
Existing drive is a 500GB SSD 2.5" for Windows (I've read that switching from SSD to NVME will save about 1second boot time) and 1TB WD BLack 3.5"

WD_BLUE SN550 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 NVMe

It's also in a PCI-E adapter, should I just fit into PCI-E slot in my new motherboard or remove from the PCI card and fit into the motherboard? It has heatsink applied so don't want to risk damaging it

Typically I used to put games on the SSD when games were on the 3.5" and pretty awful (for example DCS) and for games where load times aren't noticeable on the 3.5".

£200
£250
£300

GPU recommendation? Display is 1440p freesync.

You'd need to check that your motherboard has enough lanes to support it and it won't interfere with the graphics card, but if it does fit, you could leave it be.

Is this the budget for the graphics?

~£200: RX 6600
~£250: RTX 4060
~£300: RX 6750 XT or 7700 XT (if you can catch a deal)

The RX 6600 and RTX 4060 aren't really what I'd consider 1440p cards for new games, but they can do it fine with older games, or with upscaling.

Does this board have X4 lane for the bottom slots?

pain in the backside the GPU and NVME slots are both called "PCIE" it's confusing to seperate the two
It has 2x additional PCI-E slots (full length).

The first of them is 4 lane and I think is free to use for your adapter.

The second (bottom of the motherboard) is 4 lane, but shared with the 3rd M.2 slot (if the 3rd M.2 slot is occupied, the slot is disabled).

I should get about 1gb sec from PCI3 1x?
The adapter might not work at all, that's the bigger problem.

Just cancelled order for the gigabyte I'm ordering PG riptide instead.

Before I order that should be much better?#

damn annoying with half baked product, PCI-E CPU, PCI-E slots, and PCI-E NVME all classed as PCI-E.

Or I that Livemixer model (I hate the splats on them) even if that is a decent board it looks naff.

Livemixer model

Both boards have the available 4 lane slot that you need, BUT:

Riptide: it is right at the very bottom, in some cases this can be annoying because it interferes with the cables plugged into the headers.

Livemixer: if you're not using the 3rd M.2 slot you have 2 options, but if you are, then you only get 1 option. The space between the slot and the graphics card is pretty big, but worth checking.
