I have always wondered this, if your windscreen has heated elements in it does autoglass replace it with a proper OEM or a third party one and will the heated screen still work? I ask because I have loads of the elements that dont actually work and the windscreen ends up with about 15 lines of "mist" on them where the broken elements are when its cold. So if I got a chip on the screen and it was replaced it would still be replaced with a proper heated screen?
Its a beat up old Mk2 mondeo by the way...
Can't comment on Autoglass but read my reply above and you'll see that National use a heated front screen if that is what was on the car, and in my case it was equal to OEM quality

Well, eventually
Can you just call up requesting a new screen right away, or does the fitter 'assess' it on the spot?
I booked a day off work so I could be around when it was done, rather than leave my parents to just give the guy the keys and just crack on with it....I had visions of my car being driven around sans windscreen after your thread
