The one of After Effects is just brilliant. I'm also very excited about the Mercury Engine in Premiere, but it would require a GPU upgrade as well as the software = $$.

The GTX 470/480 cards will blow the rest out of the water.

Require new PSU and maybe a case to find it in but its probably cheaper then a new complete PC.

PSU and case would be upto throwing a 470/480 straight in. But if the gains in Premiere aren't worth the extra cost I wouldn't bother, as I wouldn't be getting it for gaming. If however, the difference between a 285 and a 470 isn't too great, I'l plump for that. As long as it will support the 470 of course, I haven't seen anywhere where Adobe have confirmed which Fermi cards will be supported.

All the details should be released on the 12th. Pretty sure they will support the new cards and any Nvidia Card that has CUDA support.

Is there something else you're not telling us about? :D

They are supposed to be power hungry beasts (300W) and take a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector for power.

Edit: The PSU has to be a minimum of 600w and a 12V line with a current rating of 42W.

Yeah I'd buy a min of 850w PSU and a new case to fit it in there.

Was about to invest into CS4 collection as I'm a student, how long people reckon till this starts appearing on usual student discount websites ?
