Adobe Flash Player 10.2 Beta

i just tested IE8 on my desktop (e5200@ 3.2ghz, 8800gts 512mb) and saw around 40-45% cpu usage regardless if acceleration was on or off.

with firefox 4 beta 11, it's around 5-10% with accleration on and around 50-55% off. quite a difference. :p

edit: after reading the post below it's just reminded me the nvidia drivers on this particular machine are ancient. :o

on iPlayerHD it's about 15% CPU usage playing fullscreen with the latest Forceware drivers. GTX460 and Q9550.

iPlayer HD is still not accelerating properly. I get 2% CPU usage on HD YouTube compared to 35% on HD iPlayer (Q6600, 8800GT, Firefox 4).

Just tried Firefox 4 B11, didn't make any difference again :(

The ATi drivers are 10.12. Not the latest, but I'm pretty sure they support GPU acceleration.

I'm getting 1%-2% on YouTube HD and 2%-3% on iPlayer HD (IE8, 64bit GeForce 266.58 drivers, GTX580, 980X)

Guys, I take it no one read my post earlier.

Just downloading and installing the new flash 10.2 will not automatically turn on the gpu acceleration.

The actually flash on the web also needs to catch up and take advantage of these resources also.

I read that today, on the adobe 10.2 developer page.

Youtube will b fine in no time, iplayer hd has been crappy for more than a year, so I seriously doubt they'll fix the huge cpu use there anytime soon. Maxed an e8400 at stock if run windowed, even with 10.2.

I just can't get BBC HD to play smoothly on my Zotac ION, CPU usage goes through the roof!
