Hi all,

I've been asked by the island school to edit the footage from the Xmas Nativity play - i've got Adobe Premier Pro to use, but i've never used it before.

Might someone have used it a lot, just so I can fire a few questions at them?

The kids will be very thankful!!!

:)

For some simple editing Premier is quite easy to learn (which version is it btw?). I take it all you want to do is chop up some video footage, add some sound (music) perhaps, and add some transitions between movie clips?
All this can be done quite quickly and easily.

Great, thanks all.

I've got 2 video sources (knave & pulpit) and 2 audio sources. (so 2x mpgs and 2x wavs)

They're all varying lengths, so i've got to obviously get them all set up so they start in exactly the same place.

Recommendations to do this? I can drag them into Video 1, Video 2, Audio 1, Audio 2 in Premier Pro - and work out when I want them all to start from - how would one trim each source?

Thanks guys

Hi tres.

In order to break apart video clips (or audio just the same) you'll need the Razer tool. You can grab this either by pressing C, or by finding it in your tools tab at the bottom right of your screen (looks kinda like a razer blade). To switch back to the move tool to move your video clips about, simply press V or click the cursor arrow in the same tool tab.

If you want transitions between video files, be sure they're placed on the same Video line, and you'll find a whole host of transition effects bottom left. All you need to do is select which one you want from the menu and literally drag it between the two video clips. You can do some adjusting thereafter.

Any problems, post back. :)
