Why oh why do Adobe get away with there dodgy pricing !

I was just about to treat myself to Lightroom via the digital download option only to find it costs more than to have a boxed copy shipped to your house !!

On top of that the USD price is similar to the GBP price !

USD > GBP is always an issue with software....
have you tried getting the download in dollars using a credit card?

You can't do it, you are always redirected back to the UK site.

I think (if I remember correctly) it's tied into the card....
