ADSL Microfilters?

Yeah, faceplate filters are generally better, because you can cut out crappy extension wiring. If your extensions are alright (or you've got plenty of SNR margn to play with), the difference is pretty moot.

I've found both my old Excelsus filters (from 2003) and the ones I'm using just now (name includes a competitor :p) have both been fine - but I've got a dodgy drop cable out to a pole that gets drenched by next door's guttering every time it rains, so the value of decent filters is a bit academic.

I'd be a little wary of using a front plate filter. They can and do fail and when they do you need to be able to replace them easily. Whilst it is rare for them to fail you want to quickly swap the filter for another as part of the diagnostic process. And they can fail at any time. I've even had a dud straight out of the bag. I've used various suppliers and have never found one to be significantly better than another. Don't pay more than a quid per unit.

My SNR is quiet/very low 16db down/ 17db up

hmm

Found a review site with a few on there and said the xf-1e cough! was the best due to the compacictors inside the microfilters.
