Since I'm going back to ADSL *sigh* does anyone have a recommendation for a ADSL modem, preferably one where you can tweak SNR to squeeze the speed?

Currently have a Draytek 2920n which has served me very well with Ubiquiti AP's. Probably move to pfsense at some point in time.

Only one I had tweaked SNR on is a Netgear DG834GT with dgteam firmware but I would be abit err on the side of caution with no updated custom firmware

Get a newer router if you can billion but never played around with that

I use a Billion 7800 as I'm on a really poor line here. Standard speed is sub 1.5Mbps, with the Billion and tweaking the SNR currently sitting at a stable 2.7Mbps which whilst still low is a hell of a lot more usable than 1.5!

Setup a billion 8800nl R2 recently and it's a great bit of kit. Only 60 quid too. Got snr on 5 but see it drops near 4 at times. No disconnects and few ES errors.

Draytek Vigor 130, not used one but it gets good reviews. ADSL/VDSL compatible.

Get the latest firmware first before using it :)

I've got a 2860 sat in the cupboard, I've tried using some of the other modem codes and also their SNR tweaking but it just doesn't work as well as the Billion so still gives us lousy speeds :(

Shame as I love everything else about the Draytek, once we finally get fibre will be moving back to it :)
