I'm used to ADSL Routers.
Grab your telephone cable (RJ45) plug it in, add the ethernet cable to the pc, log in, add ISP settings and away you go.

I was under the impression that cable Routers were pretty much the same bag except you had a telewest/virgin cable instead of a normal telephone cable.
I've just gone and purchased a "rangemax" cable router thinking I could junk the Motorola Surfboard that's currently attached to the cable and have a Router that's wireless capable.
It would appear having looked on the web for "setup" instructions (GF's ISP is Virgin media that I'm not familiar with) that you can't just remove the modem like you can the ADSL version???
Is that correct and what is the best plan of action (other than cancelling the order if it's true. :D

Have I done a boo boo. :(

Unfortunatly you will still need the Surfboard, the only product I know of for Cable that is "all in one" is Virgins own Superhub :(
