well my office machine has gone a bit nipples north so i need to reinstall windows, its had a bit of a beating with software lately
as i spend most of my time RDP'd onto servers i was thinking of installing server 2003 on this machine, it would make things easier for me to be using the same OS i interact with every day, also makes it easier to test things (and GP management doesnt appear to like XP very much which is one of my biggest annoyances)
but would it be a good idea? my machine is more than capable of handling it (e6600, 2gb ram etc - i was a bit cheeky when we got new office machines hehe) i think id still stick with 32bit R2 SP2 same as most of our servers are the same
i guess the only issue i can think of is if i have software incompatibilitys but most of the software i use is or has been installed on a server in the past (i think)
any opinions? im pretty sick of XP tbh and i dont want to goto vista for obvious reasons (its nice at home but its absolute pants on a network)
