Advantages for a sound card over integrated

the hd audio is suprising good . as i said before, it was good enough for me to get right of my x-mystique and try as i might, i cant justify getting an xfi:)

Well thats good then because when I upgrade in the summer I wouldent mind selling my X-Fi to pay for other upgrades such as new PSU and HDD's :D

Just installed my Xtreme Gamer today. Upgraded from realtek onboard and the difference is astonishing.
Just put an Audigy ZS 2 into my laptop today and the diffrence, even through head phones, from the onboard realtek is totally noticable in every way. So I can imagine the diffrent from the realtek onboard on a PC to the X-Fi being rather a great diffrence.

Not that the onboard is particularly bad, mind.

Was £30 too. A total steal.

in your case, it would be better

in other cases, the onboard may be better -like if it had soundstorm for example
