Hi all,

On the off chance someone has one of these or happens to know the answer...

A friend has an old Advent DT1308. He mainly wants it for WoW Classic, so we're going to give it a small RAM upgrade, graphics card, PSU, and maybe an SSD. The RAM / GPU/ PSU are all "free" as they're all old parts a few of us had spare that are not of much value. It has a very low end standard type motherboard so does have 1 16x PCIe and the standard ATX power connectors so everything should be compatible.

I am concerned about the lack of case fans with the GPU though as there's not a lot of airflow in there. My friend does not have a tape measure to check the fan sizes.

So, long shot - does anyone here know what size fans the old Advent takes?

cant see anything online, possibley a 92mm or 120mm, however there looks like a shroud over the cpu cooler which would block you fitting that. If you are getting a PSU you may as well get a case.. if you get a cheap ATX case that will give you more room to play with. ive linked to one thats on weekly offer, its an old design and was never worth full price but worth £32. and has a front an rear fan included.

have a look at EG Coolmax Black & Mesh ATX its not avilable here but under £30 and includes 3 fans and has a glass side panel

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £44.69 (includes shipping: £11.70)

All the upgrade parts are free to him, donations from myself and another friend.

He actually found his tape measure this morning, it's a 92mm fan. For the sake of a fiver for an Arctic F9 we'll give it a go before looking at any other options :)

just check that CPU shroud isnt blocking access to the Fan
