Hi all,

In a little over 8 weeks our first kid is due and with the wife being off on maternity etc I thought I would get a few adventure games for her to play through in between looking after the nipper and cleaning ;)

Now, I've the original 4 monkey island games that she has never played and blade runner, she's played all the broken swords (well, she hasn't finished the last 2) and she loved Syberia. I've Grim Fandango knocking about somewhere too.

I am out of touch with adventure games really, so can anyone suggest any?

Didn't they make more monkey island games? and some back to the future ones too?

Tales of Monkey Island, which comes in 5 chapters. Yeap a 5 part back to the future game is out there also, Both can be bought on steam.

Another adventure game, that you might want to look at is The Longest Journey. It's a really old game but still a classic. You can get it on steam as well.

The first Monkey Island was redone at some point, with new graphics/voices. There is also a fifth, Tales of Monkey Island.

Syberia 2, The longest Journey / Dreamfall, Indigo Prophecy, Sam & Max stuff. Not strictly adventures but Limbo / Machinarium might be worthwhile.

ToMI, BTTF, and the new Sam & Max games are all from Telltale.

All available on Steam as well.

The old one's are the best one's still imo though. Interesting fact: Grim Fandango is the best game ever, she should play it first. :p

Machinarium definitely is. It's one of the best examples of a modern P+C adventure game imo.

Another vote for both Sam & Max and Machinarium.

Hector looks to be fantastic, though it's rather uncouth :p

Hector is indeed uncouth, but the voice acting and recording quality is horrible, and the game itself offers barely 2 hours of play if you have any familiarity with the point and click genre. :(

Tales of Monkey Island, I have all the previous adventures, I see Steam have the complete pack for £24.99, might wait a bit and see if I can get it cheaper

I can tell it's your first child, time to sit & play games ?, Lol

The joys of a two parent family, when I am at home and looking after the kid etc it'd be nice for her to spend some time doing other stuff.

And having raised my two youngest brothers from babies to about 5 years old, I can say that it's not as hard as people make out :p

Thanks for all the suggestions folks, having read some of them I've remembered I might have the disks knocking about somewhere. Just found Perry Rhodan too, remember that being ok.
