Why would a guy in a suit be saying 'I'm a PC'?

Apple advert in my eyes is a childish attempt at knocking down a competitor in order to gain sales. It basically has a cool 'hip' person stood next to a geek. The 'hip' guy is apparently a Mac, the PC is represented by the geek, i really do hate it when companies resort to slagging off the competitions products instead of promoting their own.
Hence why i like this advert, MS could have easily upped the ante and stuck a bib on a baby with 'i'm a Mac' on it in an (failed) attempt to seem clever, most likely resulting in a childish advert battle.
See above, Mac (especially in america) have pushed the image of all PC users being old, overweight businessmen. This advert is an attempt to dispel this image.

I like that new Barclays one, where the guy goes down the waterslide.
He does in the Mac adverts. Apparently it's to give the impression that PCs are "old and boring" and Macs are "young and hip".

A British version aired briefly, it had the two guys out of peep show in it. Obviously the British public didn't fall for such shameful advertising tactics so the advert campaign didn't last long. It's been going in the US for years.

Its an absolutely rubbish advert. Im a PC. What does that mean. Does it mean that you use a pc? Last time I checked microsoft still has a fricking huge slice of the market and most people use a PC. So its saying that all these cool hip people use a PC? Right so even though 95% of my mates use a PC I think that only aging businessmen use them.
Can someone explain how this is good advertising. To me this is akin to saying look at all these people who drive a car with 4 wheels. You should do that too. Pretty much everyone uses a PC already so why try and persuade people that PCs are used by loads of hip people. I only hope that it cost them a ridiculous amount of money.
