Adverts getting ridiculous!

So there i was this afternoon watching tv, a program started at 2pm and then FOUR MINUTES later, there were ******* adverts! ridiculous, didnt even have time to get into the program, just about saw the intro and that was it! Why would tv companies assume that i would want a break this early into a program? just so i can watch some tw@ advertise insurance?
Don't want to sound like am ranting on a bit, but does anyone else get frustrated with the timing of adverts? or is it just me lol, but seriously i've noticed this happening a lot lately, adverts are coming on within 5-8 minutes of a program starting and there always on like clockwork, so when you want to change the channel because an ad break has just started, there on at the same time on the other side too! grr

Only watch TV for sport and 24. I pause 24 though using Sky+, and start watching it 20 minutes later so I can spin through the ads :D

It's the move to the American system of adverts at 5 past, 25 past, 35 past, 5 to - rather than the UK system of 0, 15, 30, 45 :(

Though the Yanks also sometimes have extra ones at 15 and 45 just for safe measure.

'Ridiculous'.

Oh, and I don't watch TV. So no. :)

o yer didnt spot that on the thread title, cheers.

But yeah i have sky plus, and choose to record programs like lost etc, so i can just skip through the ads, its just when u have nothing to do and just want to sit down and relax for half an hour or so, just gets annoying.

things like bbc 2 and bb3 etc are really good for this though, no ad breaks whatsoever! just hope they can keep it up, i suppose its only ever good if they decide to show something interesting for once, the only thing watchable is top gear and family guy lol.

I never watch things at their scheduled time I just set them to record in Sky+ and then watch them at a time more convenient for me. Sky+ has the added benefit of allowing me to fast forward through the adverts.

Sky+ was an awesome invention and has totally changed my viewing habits.

Hacks me off too, but be content with the knowledge that no matter at what point they put the adverts they can't have more than 15 minutes in an hour (which is less that some american tv shows).

The other night I watched Scrubs and My name is Earl on e4 (at 1am) and there were no ad breaks in any of the programmes, I suspect someone got in trouble for that.

The most annoying thing ever, you end up surfing through other channels looking for one where there are no adverts on, by which time the adverts on the channel you were watching have finished. That's the best thing about the BBC... no adverts.
