I am planning my next system build and I am looking at hard drives and am getting tempted by SSD's.

I've currently got 3 x 500GB Hard Drives and was going to sell them and get a 1.5TB drive instead but I'm wondering whether it's really worth getting a small SSD (64GB) for the main drive.

Is there anywhere I can find benchmarks against drives such as the WD Black and Samsung F3?

Is there anything in particular I should look for in a SSD?

Thanks in advance

Buy the SSD 64gb for your OS and main programs you wont regret it from what I have seen and read from everyone who has one, go for a sandforce 1200 based one like the Vertex 2's or a Corsair SSD both highly rated by their owners, it almost seems a no brainer now if your building a new high performance system and dont mind the extra expense, I have a SSD on my shopping list as well!

Thanks for the comments. Is there a particular feature to look out for? When I get home, I'll take a look at how much space Windows on my programs uses on my current drive.

SSD is great if you are impatient like me. No more waiting around ever for stuff to load.

Really glad I bought my X25-M even if it is a flat-out rip-off. From a personal point of view the added zip it gives the machine really makes the entire purchase feel a lot more worth it.
