Hi all,

After having my current PC for 4 years and being a gamer I need an update.

My graphics card is 7970 (VFX) as I bought this last month so I'll be keeping this but my current pc blatantly can't handle the heat.
I have samsung 256 Pro so no need to replace this

So what I'm looking at:

OcUK Tech Labs - BitFenix Shinobi XL - 750 EX360 Watercooled Case (INTEL option)

"Rock Creek Gold Rush" Intel i7 4770K @ 4.4GHz Overclocked Haswell Gaming PC Bundle (16GB 2133mhz option)

If I've missed anything please let me know or if you want to recommend something that is better that would be great as I can afford quite a bit more if needed and worth it.

Should I go with bundles or more individually?
should i get 2400mhz memory instead of 2133, is there much difference?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.

If you can build a PC yourself, then I would recommend buying the parts and doing so. You will get a lot more for your money and more choice.
What Psu do you currently have?
And the big question, what is your max budget?

Weclome,

I have the same questions as Idleman, then a few more..

Are you looking to watercool you're GPU in future or do you just want good CPU cooling?

Are you open to Xfire as an upgrade option? (for a later date)

arghhh typed out a reply and and hit post and during that time it logged me out and hitting 'back' all my text was gone :( Here's a shorter version of what I wrote haha

Thanks for the replies

I am happy to build my own PC the only issue I have is that I have no experience of watercooling so have no idea what I'm doing in that respect. Probably look to watercool the GPU in the future but at the moment I'll probably leave that alone.

In January 2010 from overclockers I bought the "Titan Goliath" Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz @
> 3.40GHz Quad Core DDR3 System and since then have only upgraded to an SSD and 7970 GPU

I'm definitely open to xfire upgrade option in the future.

Not really thought about a budget, but looking at what I had in the opening post that was about 1k but if the upgrade was really worth it I'd go up to 1.5k maybe even a bit more. The cheaper I put this together though the more I can justify other things like new monitor, headset, mouse, keyboard, etc but the most important part is getting the right PC so am willing to go that bit further if needed.

Cheers

The 920 is still a good chip and would be even better with a good 4.2Ghz OC.

The case will allow for good air flow and the AIO with keep your chip cool, even with a decent OC. A 750W Psu to allow for xfire in the future. The mobo has an excellent onboard audio chip. So all this will leave you with more than enough funds for a monitor, kb, mouse, headset, speakers, etc,.
