Advice for upgrading 7yo PC for gaming

Well the fact that there isn't an update may well mean that it will be ok.

I have googled I can't find any mention of any NVIDIA release failing to work with that particular board.

Actually, I think it's the other way around: if your m/b had a UEFI BIOS it might require an update for the card to work.

Good stuff, that alone will make a big difference - good opportunity to complete strip down and rebuild the machine, clean all the fans, sort out the cables etc

One other thing..

My motherboard supports 2 graphics cards. Is that worth doing (2 x 560ti)?

Do you already have both cards and a SLI connector? If so, you have nothing to lose; if not, don't waste your money.
