Advice/Law advice maybe

Im going into the garage tomorrow to see what exactly is wrong as there running her about at the moment with uncertainty on what is needed. From my knowledge on this car as i had one it needs a new airbag and a new connector/harness part.

Ok, first of all as already said airbag light not illuminating is not an mot failure only and advisory. And you said further investigation was required before they realised the passenger airbag was missing. Since it wasn't discovered during the mot that the airbag was missing then the car has been incorrectly failed. What's the exact wording on the failure? as its impossible that it says anything about airbag light not illuminating.
Bottom line is the wording on the failure, if it says airbag missing when fitted as standard (and that this was discovered without removing any peices of the dash/glove box etc during the mot) then fair enough. The ONLY other wording to fail an airbag would be SRS lamp indicates fault, which yours clearly didn't. Otherwise i'd be questioning the legality of the failure, and you will actually be in a position to appeal the MOT dispite your car not technically conforming to the rules.
If i read your first post as how things actually went down, then they failed the car for no airbag light, which isn't possible as there isn't an option for that in the MOT computer, and that it was only after the MOT after looking into it more they discovered an airbag missing. If thats how it went down, appeal the MOT, as the car has been incorrectly failed.

As a minimum, unfortunately.

Key thing is to get the light re enabled and take it from there
Why bother about the light, its not required.
