I wish to increase my drive capacity as I only have 25% space free. My PC is only used for gaming and you will see in my specs I have 2GB memory - does that make a fast drive for the swap file less important? My priorities are good in-game performance and not so much how fast games install/load. I could use the free space on the 40GB drive but that would only be a short term solution.
At the moment I do not wish to reinstall XP or any of my games as I have a nice stable setup. All my drives are IDE so would it possible to add a SATA drive as I would probably make the transition from IDE on a future build.
My current hard drive setup:
IDE 1 - Master - 160GB (1 partition 75% full) - XP - Program files - Game installation & data
IDE 1 - Slave - 40GB (1 partition) - Swap file 4GB
IDE 2 - DVD re-writer
In the coming months there are many new games I will be installing so I need to get drive space in order.
