Hi guys,

Recently got some artifacts whilst gaming so thought i better sort out some temperature monitoring software for my computer. Found different software to measure cpr/hdd/video temp, but when looking at the cpu core temp for e-8400, i noticed they give different readouts. For example when on load:-

RealTemp displays 58-60c
CPUID HWM displays 63-65c
Speedfan displays 68-70c

How do i know what the correct temp is?

Also, is there any guidelines for recommended safe temperature ranges for:-?

CPU (e-8400)
Hard Drives
Graphics Cards (3870x2)

Thanks a lot for your help

For graphics card temp readings id suggest gpuz, for safe temps for various hardware i tend to use the following.

cpu, 70-75c @100% load
Hard drive, 40c
Graphics cards tend to run pretty hot, but this can be addressed with manually raising the fan speed or using automatic fan profiles.

The guys in the overclocking/cooling forum will probably be able to help more. You could probably do with a tool that graphs temperature also which might be more useful.

Your CPU temps don't actually look anything out of the ordinary, have you overclocked the card at all?
