Hi building my first computer and have been looking at all the posts and videos on how to do this.In the part where you bench test your components before putting them into the case they all show the GPU being installed, what i would like to know as I am planning on getting a ivybridge or sandybridge CPU which have their own graphics on board can i test the board using these or do i still have to install the GPU for the test, thanks in advance

Eemm, well, you can test any part of your build, whenever you want, whith the software you want..

If you want to test your IGP, then just install memory, HDD, CPU, PSU, and monitor.. In the Bios, must activate the IGP intead PCI-E.. Then, boot, install drivers and test.. The GPU must not be installed, nor the drivers of it..

If you wanna do it with your GPU instead, then must disable the IGP into your Bios, and select the display device as PCI-E (or whatever the option says).. Then boot, install drivers and test..

Remember: the GPU drivers could enter in conflict with each other.. So, every time you want to test any, uninstall previous drivers.. ;)

Best regards.. :)
