Hi,
This is my first ever post in a forum, and first ever custom loop. I'm a proper virgin, so go easy on me
Where do i start..... components!
OcUK Tech Lab - XSPC D5 Vario Pump & XSPC Acetal D5 Top Value Combo
XSPC RayStorm CPU WaterBlock
EK-BAY SINGLE RES CSQ - Acetal
XSPC EX120 120mm Radiator - Black
XSPC G14" Fittings
That's the basic loop setup, here's the problem. I was hoping for a pump/top combo, but as they had none in stock, i ended up with pump/top/res combo on top of my bay res. When filling the loop for the first time, i did so from the top bay res, allowing the liquid to run down into the pump res (but not totally fill it) then fire it up for a burst until my top res ran down. However, as the bottom res was never full (oops) it foamed the loop up like crazy as i was filling it. I was a little too late when i realized i need to fill the bottom res to the top with the pump running, to stop this happening, and now my loop is full of bubbles
Here's the thing... At the moment, it seems to me that, as these bubbles settle out of the loop, they do so in the pump res, and in turn this is causing the liquid to be displaced into my bay res, slowly pushing it over it's max fill level. I have tried taking some of the liquid out of my bay res, and re-filling the air pocket in my pump res only once so far after a couple of days running it, but sure enough after a few more days, the air pocket in the pump res has returned and my bay res is pushing its max....
I was going to take some more out soon, and top off my pump res with it. Only trouble is, I have no idea if im right! or if something else about my loop is causing the issue. Any advice would much appreciated
