Advice needed on places to live in Durham

Which part of Newton Aycliffe are you saying stay away from? It has some extremely nice areas (Woodham especially). It has a rough council estate or two, but the town overall isn't bad, and I would say the town is beautiful if you live in Woodham.

7 year thread revival!

And tbh, Newton Aycliffe is still a dump and has probably worsened.

Why on earth would you sign up to necro a 7 year old thread about a place you're clearly already familiar with?

Wasn't aware I was meant to check the dates.
And it's because people "clearly" berate places they know nothing about.

Try checking out Google Maps and look at Low Green, High Green, Woodham Gate, Ryder Court, Sunningdale (to name a tiny amount of the nicer areas of Newton Aycliffe). Then have a look at those areas on street view and say the entire town is a "dump". Yes it has crap areas, but the point I'm trying to make is not to tarnish an entire town with the same brush. I'm sure the people living in the areas of Newton Aycliffe with 6 bed detached mansions backing onto woodland and golf courses wouldn't think of their particular part of Newton Aycliffe as a dump. It's just the stereotypes and sweeping generalisations I don't like, whether it's about Newton Aycliffe, Nottingham or Virginia Waters.
Ps I'm not from Newton Aycliffe.

You should have if you were sane, ex member maybe?

It's not like randomly coming across a 7 year old thread about a weirdly specific niche subject is likely.

PS: I live in the area, have for 30 years.

Not sure why you have joined a forum and resurrected a 6 year old thread to defend a town.

I used to work in Aycliffe and dad lived there for decades - it's a dump.
