Hi to you all,
advice needed with buying a SSD drive !

Would like to buy 128gb model,been looking at the following ;

2.OCZ Vertex Series 120GB
3.Corsair Extreme X128 128GB

I under stand that option 1 & 2 are the same thing

which 1 will be better supported with firmware updates
which 1 will be the better option for windows 7
which 1 jas the best performance

Many Thanks

Just ordered OCZ Vertex Turbo 120GB 2.5\" Solid State Hard Drive 64MB Cache

OCZ Vertex Turbo Series provides a cutting-edge design for enthusiasts looking to transform their desktops or laptops. Enabled by a proprietary firmware and 64MB of 180MHz DRAM cache, the Vertex Turbo Edition ramps up performance levels to new heights, while providing the snappy computing, longer battery life, and shorter boot-ups users have enjoyed from the original. The Vertex Turbo delivers best-in-class read and write speeds clocking in at up to 270MB/s read and 210MB/s write along with the lower power consumption and superior durability compared to conventional hard drives.

The tried-and-true architecture and performance of the original Vertex has been upgraded to meet the demands of enthusiasts and other performance-seeking users who benefit from SSD technology. The Vertex Turbo Series maximizes the potential for ultimate productivity and state-of-the-art computing experience, by increasing both the host clock-speed and the SDR DRAM Cache to 180MHz versus 166MHz on the original series.

can't wait for this baby to arrive next week

123 are the same Barefoot drives (apart form the OCZ turbo as its over clocked an little)
OCZ tend to get the Firmware updates first and better support, last time i checked it can take up to an month for PATRIOT to give updates

OCZ Vertex Turbo turned up at lunch time can't wait to get home from work and install this SSD drive into my system, will you know how it all goes later.

120GB Vertex Turbo is the one im going for, found one place with stock but they sold out real fast and they only have the 60GB left :/

Hopefully the wait isn't too long...

I seen it for around £280 mark and the 60GB one is £170.66

Seems a bit overpriced compared to Crucial's M225

Just install with window 7 64bit, went llike a dream
fast is 1 word that i can use. took 10min to install.

How do i upload a picture into the forums ?

First you have to upload to a site such a photobucket/imageshack etc. Then just paste the image's address in tags ie
:)

the drive is worth the money & a lot faster than a normal hard drive

first bench, the write speed is spot on, but the read speed seems a bit low

how cool running is that new phenom II like as the older phenoms ran Quite hot

now the Crucial M225 are coming makes 256GB drives cida with in my price range still like it to be lower

i get 6.6 (win7) on my corsair S128 (first gen SSD 90MB/s read 70MB/write) so does not seem the test is fully looking at disk transfer rate more latency then any thing els

by the end of the year almost all SSD's would have dropped in price or be replaced by faster cheaper drives. Im not buying any SSD's untill Micron (or JMicron) release there new controller.
