advice on a car

The low range 3's are a tad gutless but they dont half drive well, looking atcars like this you cant go far wrong with something like a 318i

Spoken for truth.

I had a very low opinion of the 318i before I bought mine, 3years & 50,000miles of ownership changed my view completely.
My first BMW, I had no plans of changing it until I saw the film "The Transporter" :o In all honesty, my 728i seems no quicker from behind the wheel - it is, you don't get any real impression of speed from the inside, its so damn quiet & smooth! - I got great fuel consumption from it and it is a strong car - mine was rear ended twice in my ownership, both times, nothing more than a bumper was required, despite both vehicle's that had hit it being write offs!

My old 318i was (and still is) a superb car.

Always wanyed some nice alloys for it, never got round to it.... :(

Happy to 100+ all day on the motorway (which a lot did!) lasted 175,000miles on its factory clutch got driven very very hard and seemed to thrive on it.

I'd sum a 318i up thus, wind it up, keep it there, the chassis is more than able to cope. ;)

Ignore the image, enjoy it for what it is, a bloody good car.

yea i would rather have one that looks abit like an old lady has had it, may not have much of a hard life n i can get the extra bits n bobs for it.

Ditch the auto, drop in a longblock 16v from a mkIII on bike throttle bodies and a straight-through exhaust.

Add a quaife 6-speed sequential 'box and LSD and you'll have one hell of a road/track weapon.
