Hi all this is my current setup

Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z77-D3H
Intel Core i5 3570K
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3(i cant run this as dual core because one of the slots doesnt work)
ASUS VH222H (1920x1080@60Hz) monitor
OCZ ModXstream-Pro 500w psu
1tb Samsung HD

Im looking at GPUs to replace my current one my max budget is about £250 and also would i need to get a new PSU as well?
I mainly play Football Manager and i play at 1920 x1080 resolution

I would avoid that EVGA card at this budget, it has terrible cooling and will thermal throttle.

These two are the same price but better in most ways. They only fall down on warranty length and potentially customer support quality. But the card itself is well-made. Fortunately, KFA2 does have a UK RMA centre so that's a plus.

I like the look of those ive seen a Palit Geoforce GTX 1060 Super Jetstream for the same price have you got any idea what that is like?

I have the 1070 Palit Super Jetstream and it's FANTASTIC. The cooler is hilariously effective and I believe the quietest out of all the manufacturers. I never hear it.

The only downside with it is the 2year warranty. But if you're quite sure you won't keep it more than 2 years (personally I am) then it doesn't matter.

GTX 1060 3GB model. Dont think you'll be shooting over the 4GB texture buffer with games at 1080p. Latets games at Ultra hit 4GB using a 1080 etc.

Brand with UK RMA helps to. Sure there's a thread on this section listing Companies that are UK based.

2 Slot

With the Palit pay a little more for the Jetstream models as stated above, 2.5 slot but a lot better then the budget cooler.

Thanks for all the advice its been brilliant one last question though is it worth looking at anything AMD have too offer or do NVIDIA offer the best bang for buck at the moment?

Agreed with the above. I also don't know why you'd pay £230 for a 3GB when you can get the faster 6GB for almost the same money. I got the cheapest one I could find at the time (Asus Turbo with the blower cooler) and it runs incredibly cool and quiet.

It doesn't.

Don't do this. Don't skimp on VRAM.

you dont play much FM :)

of course if you can stretch a few extra pounds 4GB version but main benefit is the core count.

Get up a Ram Usage count of your current games you play to see what your using currently. Google gaming reviews on those games and should give you benchmarks for it :)

The motherboard has 4 slots though?? Try some of the other slots and if it does not work it means either the RAM module is borked,or most likely the CPU has problems since the memory controller is in the CPU.

FM is probably CPU intensive so you are loosing CPU performance with only single channel RAM I suspect.

People are forgetting that OP plays football manager at 1080p. A 1060 is unnecessary. The current offer Red Devil RX 470, is plenty good enough, not to mention the amazing value for money the offer provides. It even covers the bases if OP wants to try out other games too, since it's almost an RX480, a card which can comfortably run most modern games at 1080p60 max settings.

I might go for that thanks for the heads up

I see the price has gone upto £188 is this still a good deal?

I have seen a Sapphire Radeon RX470 Nitro+ 4GB for£184 or the 8GB version for£210 are those good deals?
This will be my final question then im gonna make a decision lol
