Hi all

Me and my parents are thinking of buying a new TV as we currently have some old 26" SD thing.

We watch a lot of sports, football and cricket etc and me and my Brother also have a Playstation 3 which we play on quite a bit.

Our budget is around £600, could maybe push it to £700 and would ideally like a 37" is that a decent size or would it be worth getting a 40"?
Also, which would be worth getting, LCD or plasma?

Thanks for your help and recommendations - Steve :)

For sports-plasma
For console gaming- LCD

Should be able to buy either one if your price range, of that size. How far is your viewing distance?

Yeah that's what I've heard badboy, which would you recommend as we do a lot of both.
Viewing distance is around 7-8 feet away.

Apparently Panasonic plasmas are bad to burn in, I'd just be pooing bricks during gaming and hoping no SB occurs if I were playing on a plasma. I'd rather buy two screens, spend more than risk damaging my plasma.

For that distance I'd get a 40, or if you're into movies (2:35) then I'd get a 50". Black borders are still pretty large, which reduces visible screen by several inches. So if you buy a 37" you'll find it quite small. Watch a 60's epic with a high ratio ie 2:45 and the image is tiny.

Had three LCD's, then two plasma's.
