Advice on case airflow with my setup...

My setup is as above. Running in a fractal R3 case.

I have an antec kuhler 620 cooled i5 2500k CPU and gtx670 cooled by another 620. Both are push/pull.

Currently intake is -

Lower kuhler
Front 120mm

Exhaust is -

Rear kuhler

The lower kuhler does put quite a bit of warm air into the case which then gets expelled through the CPU kuhler.

Would I be better having either...

A) both kuhlers as intakes along with front intake either 1x120 or 2x120. Then two 140's in the roof as exhausts.

B) both kuhlers exhausting air. Both front 120's as intakes and either 1x140 roof as intake or 2x140 as intake.

Hope the above makes sense!! Thanks

Can you not mount the CPU rad ontop of the case and the GPU rad where the existing CPU is? (I'd imagine that the tubes are long enough). Have them both exhausting out is preferable.

Or if it's possible have both the gpu and cpu rad mounted at the top of the case.

Do you feel either the GPU or CPU are running too warm?

On first glance and would need to test, but have the GPU as an exhaust taking (relatively) cool air from the front intake, and the CPU as an intake (cool air from outside the case). Do you have exhausts in the top?

Na. Can't fit a rad and fans at the top.

No top exhausts at the mOment. The CPU is running a little warm as is, but at the same time I'm trying to keep the noise levels down as much as possible.

I thought it would make sense having as little hot air in the case as poss. Hence having the gpu blowing out.

Could go - gpu out, front intakes. CPU in, top exhaust(s)

Give that a try, sounds promising.. its always lose temp here, gain temp there, but eventually you'll find the best compromise.

front intake and bottom kuhler as intake and cpu at the rear as exhaust.

keep an eye on temps, and if you have a spare fan try it as an exhaust at the top of the case, so you have 2 intake and 2 exhaust.

whereabouts is the case situated, does it have some decent clearance underneath it for the kuhler ?

Managed to fit both the rads in the roof with the aid of a drill.

Should work out much better for airflow.

2 rads in roof as exhaust.
2 120mm fans in the front as intake
1 140mm fan in the floor as intake

lol so you managed to fit both to the top of the case. :p

I wouldn't even bother with the fan near the floor as an intake now you have both rads mounted at the top. Just have the fans connected to them in push pull (optional) and keep the front 2X120mm.

Since motherbaords produce heat why not have a 120mm fan where the cpu fan was as an exhaust?

I'm assuming your Khuler mod is like in this thread
