Advice On CPU Please

what are you using the chip for? are you planning on overclocking? what motherboard and ram and cooling are you going to be using?

Whats the fastest chip for using photoshop CS5 and large files

Intel® Core™ i5 Processor 760 (2.80GHz, 8MB)
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (2.8)

as you can see from the link above, within that benchmark the i5 750 does better in photoshop and is not much more money. The difference is only 2 seconds in reality though, but every little eh.

infact you will notice intel seem to be quicker in photoshop than AMD, ive read that the extra memory bandwidth on the intels is particularly good for photoshop.

Generally if you can afford it, the i5 2500k is the best value cpu at the moment (as far as i know). its almost twice as quick (in photoshop) as the one your looking at, and only £40 more. It will quicker in a lot of other thing also.
