Hi,

I've currently got a HIS ATI Radeon HD 5850 iCooler V Turbo 1024MB, which I bought from OcUK.

Have been toying with the idea of installing another.

This might be a lame question, but must I use two of the same exact cards for Crossfire, as it's no longer available from OcUK?

Thanks & Regards

from what ive read on reviews you don't need the exact same card, you can use any ATI radeon HD 5850 card

for example if you had a xfx 5770 and a HIS 5770 they will work together due to having the same GPU chip, it dose not matter what brand they are as long as they have the same GPU chip :)

beasty

I don't have the same brand of 5850's I have an asus and msi one which work fine together except I had to flash the msi card with the asus bios as msi limit the level you can clock it to very low. All works fine but don't know if anything else could happen.

yes mixing brands is fine. if the cards u use have different clock speeds u can if you want update the bios to the same version on each but it is not essential.
