I know zero about RAM so please bear with me. I have an ASUS Prime Z270-K Motherboard with an Intel i7 7700K CPU. Currently have 2x8GB Kingston Fury HyperX 2400 installed. I am not a gamer but do a fair bit of Photoshop and office multi tasking.

  1. Am I best with 1 in channel A1 and the other in channel B1 or both in A1 & A2?
  2. Would I see much improvement if I bought a 4x8GB kit and filled all 4 channels or purchased 2 more 8's to match the existing RAM?
  3. Which 4x8 kit would be best without spending top dollar?
  4. CAS Timings, am I right in thinking the lower the numbers the better?
  5. Does the LED RAM perform as well as others?
Your help and advice would be very much appreciated, thank you.

1 put in the slot nearest atx 24 pin connection miss a slot then put in the next slot. Same on all boards.

2. If you use four sticks all should match to give good compatibility. With four sticks you may gain 1% performance but may also lose more in oc.

3 check out 3200Mhz kits the best one is team group dark pro 8Pack c14 xmp.

4 yes lower cas same frequency better performance in xmp. Like the sticks I suggest.

5 yes led ram performance is exactly the same if same speed and timings.

i think, the fewer slots you use, the lower the stress on your IMC. My temps went up a lot going from 2 to 4 sticks (quad chan though)

Thank you 8 Pack.
I have put my Kingston Fury HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL15 1.2V Memory - HX424C15FBK2/16 in the price check section.
If I can sell it at a reasonable price I will be taking your advice and getting the 2x8 3200Mhz kit team group dark pro 8Pack c14 xmp.
