Advice on e5300 vCore

Take the vcore off auto before it kills the cpu mate. If hes going to run it at stock 1.3v should be plenty

Ok thanks for the advice, but can we be sure that the CPUz reading can be believed?

The BIOS is kind of basic but does allow for some overclocking, its an ASUS motherboard, micro atx.

I do plan to oveclock it a bit, but only just finsihed installing OS so will take another look when I get home

Thanks again.:D

Asus boards do overvolt a lot mind 1.8v is loads lol. you can down load asus probe 2 free that will give you temps and volts as well. not saying its better but you will be able to tell if cpuz is just having a bad day or the Asus board is trying to kill the 5300 lol good luck mate

Thanks again, like you say it seems loads. Ultimately, I will set it maunally just to be sure.

Cheers.:D

Hi again, just installed PC Probe 2 and it reports the vcore as 1.15v. Guess I have to believe that.

Cheers for the advice

Might be worth updating the bios, i remember when one of my cpu's wasn't fully supported by the bios it overvolted it a bit, nothing like that though. Updating to the latest bios fixed it.

Just a thought?

If it was idle mate it prob was in a power saving state(speed step is prob on) you will want to know what it is on load mate try stress it with orthos and have cpuz and probe open and see whats what
