Heres my dilemma :
My dream job as come up and my application pack has arrived it says to use black ink but makes no comment on block capitals.
Last november I did fill one out for the same place and in the last section where you write things about yourself I thought my block capitals looked bloody awful.
In fact because we were bought up on the t'internet ALL BLOCK CAPITALS LOOK AWFUL BECAUSE ITS CONSIDERED RUDE AND SHOUTING.

So, if you're a boss would you expect block capitals or only if you asked for them?
Of course I'll use blocks on my personal details.

Another thing : I've been pre-warned by a couple of teachers that those who look at the applications look for keywords eg enthusiastic, reliable etc.
Anybody got some really good keywords?

I've always been told that unless the form says otherwise, fill them in with black block capitals.

My handwriting isn't the neatest but which looks better? -

Yeah, I know Learning is spelt wrong, I was rushing on the copy.

Your block capitals don't look that different from your normal handwriting. Use blocks unless otherwise stated as someone's already mentioned.

Key words : successfully, achieved, managed, delivered, above expectation etc etc. Google knows more than I do.

Wow you are going to some lengths here!

If that is the form - why would you fill it in in block capitals?! Use capitals only where needed etc. and Slow down your wrist to improve your scribble :p

Whilst unsure as to the proper etiquette in this respect, my personal opinion is that on your example the blocks look better than the lower case.

I would write it normally unless it specifically says to fill the form out in capitals.

As long as it is legible that is.

I normally use block capitals anywhere where there are those little squares where you put each character in its own square. Otherwise its just normal writing (but neat) unless stated otherwise on the form.
