ok im noob but ive done my research and this is what i have come up with. mostly i have designed it to be really quiet and efficient. if you are wondering why i dont had any HDD or anything its cos i already have one. and also i havent decided on any fans. so i want to ask if there is anything i can improve on or anything. my budget is about 900 quid. also do you think any of these components will come down in price over the next month or so?

heres my shopping list

thanks to anyone who answers

That's one really expensive motherboard! You going to need all its overclocking features?

Asus P6T would save you nearly £90.

OEM version of that cpu would save another £6.

wow thanks for the replies last few posts didnt get noticed :(

well to answer stulid i just forgot to put the optical drive into the list. this pc is for gaming and video/music editing. wanted this mobo because yes i do want to overclock :D i know the p6t could save but the rampage 2 comes with a sound card and its had really great feedback about its quality. @DireEmblem i dont really care about load times on anything tbh cos its going to pretty fast anyway and im quite patient having lived with a slow laptop for 5 years. and i feel the price difference between the 5850 and the 5870 is too great for the performance difference and the 5850 can (apparently) overclock to 5870 speeds so thats ok. in the future im either going to crossfire two 5850s or get a 5870 when they are cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, that's an killer board you want, BUT £250!!

The P6T overclocks like a champ too, has intel HD audio which is good too.

haha it is quite a bit :D but i forgot to mention i want to future proof this as much as possible (to a point) without going over my budget and i reckon a really good mobo and then a compromise on the other components (apart from PSU) is good then upgrade later and the mobo will last me for longer than the graphics cards and ram, processors and so on. dunno really im kinda in love with the rampage 2 :p

you wouldn't be any more future proof with the rampage than you would with the p6t as far as i'm aware :)

i'll leave the case question to someone else as i'm using a cm-690 and it's quite noisy thanks to my cheap fans :D

well im now re considering the p6t and perhaps get the deluxe version? its all really tough choice being my first time haha xD maybe the rampage is a bit over the top for my purposes...

aha i remembered something vital i was supposed to include in the first post! im buying everything through a company and im not including the VAT into the price so buying the rampage extreme is only 4 pounds more expensive without VAT than the p6t with VAT... still looking though. @MonkeykingZX i reckon the deluxe has a few more features than that and it may be more worth while if i did get a p6t

Bit-tech/custom pc, say about the gigabyte its awash with features(integrated water cooling) but not best overclocker.

mm water cooling sounds cool ill look at some reviews but im not looking to build the ultimate pc so im ok with saving some money and not doing some insane overclocking. im looking for quality too. still, got my eye on both thanks for feedback.

well ive read some quick comments on the gigabyte and people have been saying that its pretty good for overclocking
