Advice on GPU

Hi,

I have been waiting to upgrade my GPU for what seems like years now.. I don't have much budget for it - maybe £300-500.

I think I want to go for a NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti

I am worried that my PSU might not be enough - its an Antec Truepower 650 TP-650 650 W

My other specs are -

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 49 °C
Pinnacle Ridge 12nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1199MHz (16-16-16-39)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. AX370-Gaming K7 (AM4) 31 °C
Graphics
S32D850 (2560x1440@59Hz)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 47 °C
Storage
931GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB (Unknown (SSD))
57GB SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 USB Device (USB )
Optical Drives
No optical disk drives detected
Audio
NVIDIA High Definition Audio

Any advice would be great,

Thanks

Agreed, it's a good choice, my friend just bought one, although he may struggle a little with his 1440p UW monitor. 650W PSU should be absolutely fine.

Thanks guys - I'm quite excited

Make sure to run the latest motherboard BIOS before sticking the new card in, just to rule out no video or POST issues.

Great choice the 3060ti fe is a lovely card. Think of it as twice as fast as a 980ti/1070.

Just updated the bios, nearly **** myself a few times because I havnt done it before but I think everything is ok.

Yeah my 980 is ready to retire I think

I'm in a very similar position to the OP and I have a question about the 3060 Ti FE. Does anyone know if I can have it delivered to my workplace rather than my home? I've heard that people are forbidden to have it delivered to anywhere other than the registered home address for their payment method. If that's the case, it's pretty much useless to me as I am rarely at home and awake for deliveries and I don't have proof of ID to collect from a depot (assuming the delivery company does that for failed deliveries anyway). Delivery to work is so much easier for me.

Odd place to ask but I've been unable to find out and reluctant to just take a punt on the chance that I might get lucky with delivery.

I've ordered both the 30FE and now 40FE cards and had both delivered to my work address with no issue. The only 'issue' if you're after one of the popular cards is getting the address boxes filled in fast enough to keep the item in your basket to reach the end of the transaction.

Having just bought a 4090FE from the last drop, I was tapping the phone keyboard as fast as a teenager on caffeine (other substances are available) just to make it to order confirmation as fast as possible :D

I just got one a few weeks ago and it's a great card for the money. I'm running Cyberpunk at 1440p at High/Max settings with Ray Tracing and it's nice and smooth. I've never actually checked what the framerate is though but so long as it's smooth I don't care.

As far as I know it depends on two things:
1. Order history
2. Payment method chosen

If it is your first order then most likely the answer will be no. If you pay with anything other than a debit/credit (or via a third party) then also likely to be no.
