I have a AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4GHz (Socket AM2), Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard, Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB).

I'm now looking to purchase a decent graphics card now to complete my upgrade. My budget is £210 max including postage, all suggestions and advice welcomed.

X1800XT 256Mb for £160 inc VAT is a bargain on this week only :)

Looks to be the best in your price range really, plus you pocket £50 for a rainy day :D

Offer will be gone by next week as im planning to buy next friday. Suggests and Advice still welcomed.

Doesn't matter as its only a tenner less than the normal price, so when the offers over it will be back at £170, which is still a cracking price, best bang for buck card going, and don't forget they may leave it in the 'This Week Only' for another week, or reduce it by a bit more. :)

Agreed, its still a really good price at £170, or there's the OcUK 7900GT at just under £200.

Well i do have an SLi Motherboard and its a shame to waste that second SLi slot that i could plug a second card into soon so which is better?

I have an SLI board (well I would with an easy mod) and I will never bother with SLI. When faced with the choice of buying a second card to match an existing card, its nearly always better to sell the card you have and get the best single card you can afford. The single card solution will be quieter, use less power, run cooler and often perform aswell, if not better than an SLI setup of two older cards.

So is it worth the extra for a 512MB Card as i've noticed Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter needs the extra memory to perform well also thinking of adding a agila physics card later.

ATI seems to see a bigger performance boost (but still not huge) with 512Mb above 1280x1024, whilst the 7900 range don't seem to suffer much at all from having 256Mb of RAM. Its dependant on the resolutions you'll be gaming at though.

As for Ageia, its basically a complete waste of money at the moment, the technology is in its infancy.

I'll probably want to use the max resolutions for best quality and i'll obviously want good performance which i have with the new setup i've ordered just need a good graphics card to give it that final push in the right direction.

I'll up my budget to £250 what do you suggest?

Max resolution is limited by the monitors panel for TFTs, have you got a monitor in mind?

But is it worth the extra £90-£100 on the the X1800XT 256Mb?

See i was thinking the same thing, x1800xt = a stonking card - it's just he upped the budget even after hearing about the great deal that's going on it. I think he maybe after more power regardless. And besides, I havn't seen the x1900xt at this low a price ever! There both so good!

Get the Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 .. awesome card & great price at present.

Forget the Ageia PhysX - its currently worthless.

When i bought my last ATI Card the X850XT PE PCI-Express i seem to of had issues with it mind saying that i had the GIGABYTE K9NXP SLi nForce 4 Motherboard and that was giving me jip with USB sockets will i have any problems with running ATI cards on the new ASUS M2N32-SLi-DLx and thats nForce 590 chipset.

Can't understand why i had problems with my last configuration it only happened when i put the ASUS X850XT PE Extreme Edition in thing went pear shapes.

Do you think that the setup i've ordered and the graphics card you've outlined would be capable of running say Call of Duty 3, Crysis with max details and performance.
